ArtsAdmin Executive Director Shadowing

In July and August 2023, Akshita had the best time learning as much as she could from the Executive Director of ArtsAdmin, Ben Cooper-Melchiors. 

A shadowing experience sparked from a spontaneous conversation about arts, leadership and the world, mixed in with some of her own initiative, Akshita and Ben figured out how to make a collaboration work. 

She relished spending time with Ben, gaining a deeper understanding of all sorts of things from management styles and adaptability, landlord responsibilities, operational requirements, financial management, fundraising, commercial functionality, programming, inclusive practices, paperwork demands of course and most of all, how to enjoy all of that in a team that is sharing the journey with you.

This was such a rewarding and exciting developmental experience in the work Akshita already does, and she feels like it was at the most perfect time as well - she will definitely be taking all that she learnt with her into all the steps she takes going forward!
